CorkSol Social Housing Case Study: Country Parade, Harrogate

Invicta Construction Finishes, a member of the CorkSol Independent Approved Applicator Network, have worked with North Yorkshire Council on a number of their social housing properties.

County Parade in Harrogate had a number of issues with damp and black spot mould. Invicta proposed SprayCork as a solution to the client to help eliminate these issues.

Following the first fix trades, such as plumbing and electrics, Invicta then bonded the walls, carried out necessary repairs, and reboarded the ceilings. This was followed by applying SprayCork to all of the external walls, which was allowed to dry before being plastered over to give a smooth finish which could be decorated to choice.

Stephen Hynes, Capitol Project Manager for North Yorkshire Council, said, “We were really impressed with the ease of install, the impact it has had on the property for both the black spot mould, which has now gone, and the reduction in heating costs. This project has helped us realise that cork is the product we will use on a roll out scheme to combat the issues of mould and insulation that we have in some of our properties.”
