Natural slate is a wonderful product that has provided a lasting and reliable roofing material for centuries, on both a wide range of important historical buildings and prestigious new build developments.

Unfortunately due to its premium price level many specifiers are forced to seek alternative artificial alternatives.

The new Imerys Graphite clay/slate provides an exciting natural option, offering a durable high performance roof covering saving up to 30% on material costs alone when compared with natural slate. Reduced labour costs will also increase this differential considerably due to no on site grading requirements and each tile is provided with two blind nail holes for ease of fixing when cutting or installing around hip and valley areas.

Due to its varied all round chamfered slim line edge and authentic modular slate size appearance, it offers an exciting contemporary option with attractive traditional appeal.

The Graphite can be fixed on a minimum 22.5° roof pitch with a nominal batten gauge of 245mm and has a relatively low weight of 39kg per square metre which is very similar to natural slate.
