Instead of refurbishing and repairing tired social housing developments with inadequate ‘quick fix’ budget materials Wakefield District Housing are regenerating and building homes to the ‘Wakefield Standard’, which mean that they have homes that both WDH and their tenants can be proud of without financial compromise.
A spokesperson from WDH commented “originally we chose the Mustang®; seamless aluminium system based largely upon a quality mandate which having monitored this product against the uPVC equivalent has proven to have delivered financial efficiency benefits together with the original quality advantages envisaged”.
The Mustang®; Gutter System is produced on site using a state of the art ‘Cold’ roll forming gutter machine. The installer does not require to pre measure the building as the gutter lengths are formed to the exact measurements required without costly material waste. Installation times are reduced as the bespoke aluminium gutter lengths are both light and use an innovative fixing system. Proven to be effective in all UK weather conditions the size of the Mustang®; gutter system, 125m wide x 97mm deep, and the integral strength provided by its high tensile hidden bracket system provide not only excellent flow capacities but a strong and durable system.
Once installed the Mustang® system requires no further maintenance as it does not leak, crack or creak, requires no further painting as it will not fade or discolour and requires no further maintenance costs due to its exceptional life span.
Independent review by the British Board of Agrément, who have extensively tested the complete system, quotes a 30 year life expectancy.
- Low Life Cycle costs due to long life expectancy and minimal maintenance
