Specifying windows and doors?

// the building envelope

Whilst ‘the FIT Show’ is now a household name amongst window and door manufacturers and installers especially in the home improvement sector, the acronym ‘FIT’ does not ring bells for everyone. And yet behind the ‘Fabricator Installer Trade Show’ lies the most powerful buying tool available in the UK for commercial buyers and specifiers of residential windows and doors.Emphasising the continued buoyancy in the market and the success of the FIT Show in satisfying the needs of buyers hungry for innovation and choice, for 2017 the event moves to the NEC for the first time, taking place from 23rd to 25th May in halls 6, 7 and 8.
With as many as 200 exhibitors parading the vast majority of major and minor brands serving the UK market, the event provides a fertile buying ground for housebuilders and public sector landlords, who may be looking for that extra touch that will sell more private homes, or bring public sector estates up to scratch. The options for both are simply staggering….
The FIT Show provides an opportunity for procurement and specification professionals to significantly resolve product and supplier agreements within days, providing access to suppliers that would otherwise take months to identify let alone contact. A look at the current exhibitor list (www.fitshow.co.uk/exhibitors) will more than justify the decision to attend, with more exhibitors signing up daily.
There is a huge choice across all product types but the one category that has, until now, been underserved is aluminium. For 2017 the sector has awakened to the FIT Show, perhaps because of its move to the NEC and noting the massive 50% increase in visitor numbers at last year’s show. This year more than 30% of exhibitors are showing aluminium products and systems, with ground-up brand new window systems in aluminium being shown for the first time anywhere.
The majority of exhibitors are boasting new launches this year so whatever your mission, you’ll complete it at this years FIT Show.
