Comar helps to complete Park Regis refurbishment project
Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems, with their approved fabricator APiC UK Ltd; recently completed a major refurbishment mixed use project for Park Regis Hotels in Birmingham. Situated in the city centre on Broad Street this project involved a complete redesign of the existing 1960's, 175,000 sq ft office building, Auchinleck House, into a 4* 260 bed hotel and conference facility. This bustling and vibrant hotel in a prime location also includes a luxury Urban Spa, Gym, a Skybar rooftop lounge/restaurant with panoramic city views, retail units, 15th floor conference and banqueting facilities and a 4th floor business centre.
The building conversion was completed using Comar 5P.i Tilt & Turn and fixed light windows, with Comar 6EFT curtain walling installed to the buildings facade and main entrances, Comar 7P.i Commercial Doors for the entrances and Comar 9P.i Ladder Framing used for the side lights.
Comar 6EFT 4sided SG provides a structurally glazed solution with EPDM or Silicon seals, 6EFT offers architects a flexible system and the opportunity to maximise a glazed area as it has the slimmest seals on the market enabling as much natural daylight as possible into the building.
In an extremely busy city centre hotel environment, Comar 7P.i Commercial Door sets were the natural choice. Not only are they available in swing, pivot, sliding, auto-sliding and sliding folding, they have been designed specifically for applications where high traffic solutions are required. All Comar approved fabricators are required to have the technical expertise to attend pre-site meetings and provide detailing. APiC (UK) Ltd liaised closely with the specifiers to provide design advice and detailing which ensured the project ran smoothly and met site deadlines.
