“Recent research has proven that good indoor air quality is crucial to the health of building occupants which is why at Vent-Axia we are continuously looking to offer the latest solutions to provide a healthy indoor environment” said Jenny Smith, Marketing Manager at Vent-Axia. “We are absolutely thrilled that this has been recognised by the H&V News Awards. To have been shortlisted three times and to have the many benefits of both the PoziDry ProTM and the Sentinel Kinetic BH MVHR acknowledged at these prestigious awards is a great achievement.”

With air pollution rising up the agenda in the UK, IAQ is becoming an increasing concern in both residential and commercial settings. The recent APPG for Healthy Homes and Buildings’ White Paper Building our Future: Laying the Foundations for Healthy Homes and Buildings, cites that poor IAQ is reported to cost the UK over 204,000 healthy life years. With a growing body of research pointing to the health implications of poor IAQ in both domestic and commercial buildings, Vent-Axia has set the benchmark for providing innovative, energy efficient solutions to this problem.

The PoziDryTM Pro provides a healthier indoor environment for home occupants, tackling the health issues often caused by ‘Toxic Home Syndrome’ such as asthma, allergies and heart conditions.  Designed specifically to eradicate condensation and mould in social housing properties, the PoziDry ProTM PIV unit brings filtered air into the home, removing pollutants, such as pollen and diesel particulates. Boasting quick and simple installation for contractors the PoziDry ProTM is a highly energy efficient ventilation unit that is unobtrusive, near silent and helps provide a healthy environment for residents. Operating by drawing in fresh air via the loft, the PoziDry ProTM filters all incoming air removing contaminants via the high-grade filters before gently introducing it into the habitable areas of the property. The diffuser directs the airflow upwards where the incoming air mixes with the warm air that gathers at ceiling height. The system provides fresh, tempered air that is drier than the inside air, this creates a healthy indoor environment helping to avoid condensation and mould, benefiting both the occupants and the structure of the building.

Recently redeveloped, this next generation PoziDry ProTM boasts four new features to improve resident comfort even further. These design innovations include a tamper-proof lock mode to ensure consistent ventilation performance; selectable summer and winter comfort settings; a new easy-to-install discreet diffuser; and an optional Radon mode.

Meanwhile, Vent-Axia’s Sentinel Kinetic BH MVHR unit is providing energy efficient and effective ventilation to the innovative and exciting ‘Floating Home’ project which is situated on a residential mooring near Chichester Marina in West Sussex. Inspired by canal living and designed by Baca Architects, the ‘Chichester’ prototype model was built by Floating Homes Limited and is not a houseboat but a house that floats. Given the close proximity to water there was potential for more humidity than a land-based home, as well as the potential for reflections of the sun to enhance solar gain. Both these factors were considerations when specifying the Sentinel Kinetic BH MVHR unit, which tackles both these issues thanks to an integral humidity sensor and summer bypass.
