Shelforce’s Howard Trotter shines spotlight on inclusive recruitment and apprenticeships
Howard Trotter, Business Manager at Birmingham-based window and door manufacturer Shelforce, took to the stage at this year’s Glazing Summit 2025 to speak on one of the industry’s most pressing challenges – skills and recruitment.
Held at the Coventry Building Society Arena, the Glazing Summit brought together leaders from across the fenestration sector, with Howard joining the ‘Skills: Apprentices in Action’ panel alongside Ultraframe’s Andrew Thompson and GGF’s John Mannell. The discussion focused on apprenticeships, attracting new talent, and increasing diversity across the industry.
Glazing Summit goes from strength to strength with new organisers
The Glazing Summit returns for 2024, in its usual location at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham, on the 17 October.
Now into its sixth year, the event has cemented itself a must-attend for senior leaders within the UK fenestration industry, featuring a day of high-level industry debate and providing unrivalled networking opportunities for over 400 delegates.
Get Involved: National Social Housing Week, 6 – 10 November 2023
National Social Housing Safety and Compliance Week is calling for the whole social housing supply chain to unite behind ‘Together for Safety’, a new movement to improve resident safety.
The Week, spearheaded by the Association of Safety and Compliance Professionals (ASCP), is an annual event dedicated to shining a spotlight on safety and compliance at an operational, strategic, and cultural level. It also supports Dame Judith Hackitt’s calls to act faster and address safety cultural issues in the sector. And with the advent of The Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023, the ASCP believes that the Week also has a role in helping to redefine the standards of social housing in the UK. Now in its third year, the campaign will launch a new movement ‘Together for Safety’. This movement recognises that no one person or department, or organisation can deliver safe homes for residents – it involves the whole supply chain coming together.
