Aico are delighted to announce the launch of their very own awards ceremony – the Community Awards.
Designed to recognise excellence within social housing and the local community, the Aico | HomeLINK Community Awards have 11 different categories, all of which are now open to entries, from College Initiative of the Year to the Rising Star Award, the Women in Fire Safety Award to the Best Distributor of the Year, including a Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative award.
Entries close on Thursday 31st March 2022 with finalists announced in early April, ahead of the awards ceremony taking place in May. The inaugural ceremony will be held at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham with host George Clarke, architect, and TV presenter, renowned in the industry. With an evening of celebration, recognition, and entertainment, the Aico | HomeLINK Community Awards will celebrate the achievements of inspirational individuals and organisations working within social housing and the local community; innovating, demonstrating excellence, and putting people first.

INCA, the Insulated Render and Cladding Association, is celebrating its 40th year and is now established as the leading organisation representing the external wall insulation industry. Technical standards and excellent workmanship are core to INCA’s values, with the annual INCA Awards event highlighting the best projects from the industry completed in the previous 12 months. The winning projects demonstrated a wide range of completed projects in both the refurbishment and new build sectors including many local authority and social housing schemes using a wide range of innovative finishes.

Market-leading ventilation expert Vent-Axia is celebrating winning the ‘Domestic Ventilation Product of the Year’ award at the prestigious H&V News Awards. Scooping the award for its pioneering Lo-Carbon PoziDry Compact Pro, which offers an ideal solution for combating condensation and mould in problem properties without a loft, the Sussex-based company received the accolade at a virtual awards ceremony on 25th November 2020. Demonstrating the company’s design leadership in tackling the problems of indoor air pollution in the home, over a third of the shortlisted products in the category were designed by Vent-Axia. In addition, Vent-Axia’s PureAir Sense was also highly commended in the ‘Air Movement Product of the Year’ category at the awards.

For almost forty years, External Wall Insulation (EWI) in the UK has been represented by INCA, the industry’s trade association, and INCA is now a flourishing organisation with its membership comprising the industry’s premier system designers, component suppliers and installers. Technical standards and excellent workmanship are the mantras of INCA and the highlight of INCA’s calendar is always the annual INCA awards, showcasing the best in External Wall Insulation. The 2020 awards were presented in an online ceremony to members and the winning projects demonstrate the tremendous variety of schemes carried out in both new build and refurbishment sectors and for residential, commercial and educational buildings.

Every year many of us in the H&V industry spend much of our time, and not an inconsiderable amount of our budgets, attending award ceremonies. Then we moan about it… unless we win. So why do we keep entering? Terri Taylor, Marketing Executive, Intergas, believes that awards are good, but some are better than others.
