This May sees the return of ASCP’s annual conference, exhibition and Awards ceremony - the unmissable event dedicated to supporting safety and compliance professionals within the social housing and facilities management sector.
The two-day event, taking place on the 20th and 21st of May and hosted at the prestigious Celtic Manor in Newport, will incorporate the AGSM National Conference and AESM LIVE, with over 600 attendees expected to walk through the doors. The event will also host the annual ASCP Safety and Compliance Awards. Rewarding individuals & organisations who go the extra mile, finalists will attend a gala awards evening on the 20th May.

The ASCP has announced the return of its prestigious ASCP Safety & Compliance awards, an initiative that recognises the outstanding achievements of inspirational individuals and organisations in the social housing and facilities management sector.

People working within the sector are encouraged to nominate well deserving candidates. With 14 categories to choose from - whether you would like to put forward someone who has excelled in their role, an organisation that has demonstrated real commitment to safety, a supplier that has exceeded expectations in developing products and services to drive safety and compliance, or a contractor who has taken great initiative - there is a category to suit all.

In the UK, bathroom falls account for a quarter of all hospital admissions . Unsurprisingly the 80+ age range is most at risk from hospital admission due to bathroom falls, with 8% admitted per year . In addition, the number of people aged 65+ entering hospital as a result of a fall is predicted to increase by almost 50% - to almost half a million - by 2035 . The bathroom is a high risk fall area, particularly for those with sight loss, mobility issues or dementia.
